Turning Our Sorrow into Joy

One day, our little boy found his mother in a somewhat pensive mood. Sensing this he asked, “Mommy, what’s the matter?”
“Oh nothing,” she replied, forcing a smile, “Just a little blue!”
“Oh,” he said as he patted her on the cheek and began dancing silly on the floor “Me make you purple”.

It is the beginning of the new year. We reflect upon the year past. We remember moments which brought a sparkle as well as a tear to our eyes. And perhaps we feel somewhat blue because the year is gone and so are those precious moments contained in it. CONSIDER, we go on because God leads on, He leads on with the promise of his companionship and a joy which comes from walking with Him. Along the way He reaches out and pats our cheeks and says “Don’t be blue, I’ll make you purple…I will turn your sorrow into joy.” (John 16:20)
