CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES 2015

Matthew 25: Ministries responded to the Valley fire in Lake, Napa, Solano and Butte Counties of California. An initial truckload of aid, containing water, personal care kits, cleaning supplies, infant and baby supplies, and paper products, left our facility on Friday, September 18. Matthew 25’s Disaster Response team traveled to the affected areas to meet with local partners and assist with product distribution. Over the course of the week, the team visited several distribution shelters across the affected areas, including Lake County, Butte County, and Calaveras County. In total, our Disaster Response team distributed more than 3,200 bottles of water, 800 personal care kits, 400 cleaning kits, 80,000 laundry detergent pods, 12,000 rolls of toilet paper, 2,200 rolls of paper towels, and 9,000 diapers.

The destructive fires began in early September. In total the fires destroyed over 2,700 structures and damaged hundreds more. There were 6 confirmed fatalities and several others injured. In total the fires burned over 140,000 acres.

Donors who would like to designate their financial gifts for Wildfire Relief may do so by writing “Wildfire Relief” in the memo line of their check or by typing it in the “in honor of” field of our online giving form. Mail checks to Matthew 25: Ministries, 11060 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242. 100% of donated funds designated for Wildfire Relief will be used for the purpose intended.
