IOWA TORNADOES 2018

Matthew 25: Ministries responded to the unexpected tornadoes that swept through Iowa on Thursday, July 19, causing damage in several towns. The tornadoes caused injuries to at least 17 people, flattened buildings in several towns and forced the evacuation of a hospital. Almost 7,000 homes and businesses reportedly lost power.

Matthew 25’s Disaster Response Team departed on Saturday, July 21, with a selection of disaster vehicles.  The team distributed relief supplies throughout the affected areas, including 305 personal care kits, 75 tarps, 500 garbage bags, 240 bottles of all-purpose cleaner, and over 2,000 rolls of paper products.

“We need to do everything we can to help them through this frightening time, and help them begin the process of recovery and rebuilding,”Matthew 25’s CEO, Tim Mettey said.“Our thoughts and prayers are with all who have been affected by this disaster.”
