Matthew 25 Responds to the Devastating Fires

Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to the devastation in Colorado Springs caused by wildfires sweeping through the area. We are working with partners to coordinate the shipment of critically needed supplies to meet the needs of the victims. The first truckload of relief is scheduled to leave Cincinnati on Monday, July 2nd. It will contain food, beverages, personal care kits, hand sanitizer, and paper towels.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this disaster. Matthew 25: Ministries will continue to support their relief and recovery as long as our help is needed,” said Tim Mettey, Vice President and Disaster Relief Coordinator for Matthew 25.

A Firestorm of Epic Proportions
Waldo Canyon Fire officials’ preliminary assessment indicated that almost 350 homes have been lost and more than 30,000 people have been evacuated so far. Colorado Springs Fire Chief Richard Brown described the disaster as "a firestorm of epic proportions."

KKTV in Colorado Springs described Tuesday's wildfire as “a perfect storm of record breaking heat, strong winds, dry air and dry fuel, which gave the fire enough of a push to get it into Queens Canyon.”
