Hurricane, High Winds, Storm Surges Batter US Coast

OCTOBER 11, 2016  Cincinnati, OH – Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization in Cincinnati, OH is responding to Hurricane Matthew.  Matthew 25: Ministries’ Disaster Response Team deployed on Sunday, October 9 with Matthew 25’s full complement of specialized disaster relief vehicles.  The trucks are loaded with relief supplies including P&G personal care kits, household and cleaning products, Cintas first aid and safety kits and supplies, and additional items such as Pampers diapers, Charmin toilet paper, Tide Pods and tarps.

The team is currently set up in Lumberton, North Carolina at the Walmart at 5070 Fayetteville Rd, Lumberton, NC 28358. A dam break on Sunday inundated the town and left 1,500 people trapped. The majority of the city is still underwater and without power. Many roads are washed out or closed due to standing water.  On Wednesday, October 12, Matthew 25’s Disaster Response Team will be distributing supplies from Walmart and may also go out into the surrounding areas to distribute products.

“We are honored to be able to represent the incredibly generous community of Cincinnati and our disaster response partners in reaching out to those affected by Hurricane Matthew,” says Matthew 25 CEO Tim Mettey.
