MARCH 20, 2018  Cincinnati, OH – Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization in Cincinnati, OH is responding to the storms and tornadoes that swept through the Southeast on March 19th,

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch Monday afternoon for all of north Alabama, including the cities of Birmingham and Huntsville, plus areas in northeastern Mississippi and southern Tennessee.  Severe storms and tornadoes moved across the Southeast on Monday night.  The National Weather Service in Huntsville reported at least three confirmed tornadoes in the area.

Matthew 25 has provided disaster relief to this part of the country on several previous occasions, including tornadoes in 2011 and 2014, flooding in 2015 and 2016 and severe storms in 2017.

“Matthew 25 has forged partnerships in the past that we will reach out to again now,” says Matthew 25 CEO Tim Mettey.  “We are fortunate to have access to partners with real-time information that will help our team respond to severely damaged areas quickly.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by these storms.”

Matthew 25’s Disaster Response Team will be distributing relief supplies including P&G personal care kits, household and cleaning products, Cintas first aid and safety kits and supplies, and additional items such as Pampers diapers, Charmin toilet paper, Tide Pods, and tarps.  Matthew 25’s Disaster Response Coordinator is constantly evaluating areas affected by the disasters and looking for the best locations based on accessibility for the team to be able to assist the maximum number of people.  The team’s initial focus will be Jacksonville, AL.  The team plans on active neighborhood distribution in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas beginning Thursday, March 22.
