MATTHEW 25: MINISTRIES IS RESPONDING TO CATASTROPHIC FLASH FLOODING
CAUSED BY HISTORIC RAINFALL IN CENTRAL TEXAS

Matthew 25 Will Deploy to Provide Essential Supplies and Services to Areas Devastated by the Historic Flooding

July 5, 2025, BLUE ASH, OH –– Matthew 25: Ministries, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization headquartered in Blue Ash, OH, is responding to the catastrophic flash flooding that has inundated areas in Kerr County, Texas. Seven inches of rain have fallen in the area since Thursday afternoon, the highest total since the early 1900’s. The Guadalupe River rose to its second highest height on record, surging to over 29 feet.  Vehicles, homes and campers along the river were swept away as the water catapulted through the area. More than 24 deaths have been reported and more fatalities are expected. At least 20 girls from a camp along the river were reported missing after the devasting flooding.  Water rescues and search and recovery efforts are underway but have been hampered due to flooded or washed away roads. A Walmart store in the area was used as a temporary reunification center for people separated by the flooding.

In partnership with Procter & Gamble and Walmart, Matthew 25: Ministries will deploy their Disaster Response Team to the impacted area to provide essential services and supplies once they can guarantee the safety and security of the people and vehicles involved and are confident that they can gain access into the areas of need.  The deployment will include a Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry Unit, offering free laundry services to households where lives have been disrupted by the disaster, and a shower and restroom trailer. Matthew 25’s Disaster Response Team will distribute critical relief supplies such as personal care and hygiene products, cleaning items, first aid kits, tarps, and batteries throughout impacted communities. Matthew 25: Ministries is in communication with partners in the disaster region to assess urgent and ongoing needs. Matthew 25’s disaster relief resource map, detailing locations where people impacted by the flooding can access services and relief supplies, will be available at https://m25m.org/resourcemaps/.

“This is a devastating tragedy,” said CEO Tim Mettey. “The loss of life and damage to property is horrific, no one should ever have to endure such heartbreak, and no one should ever have to lose a child. Matthew 25 will do everything we can to provide for the essential needs of the people who have experienced such heartbreaking loss. We will do our best to offer compassion and care to the survivors and their families.”
