MATTHEW 25: MINISTRIES PREPARING FOR
DEPLOYMENT TO CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES

Death Toll Rising In Devastating Wildfires, Thousands of Homes Destroyed

NOVEMBER 15, 2018  Cincinnati, OH – On November 16 at 8:00 AM, Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization in Cincinnati, OH is deploying its two Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry Units to California in response to the devastating wildfires raging throughout the state. Members of Matthew 25: Ministries’ Disaster Relief Team will drive the units and their operating generators to the west coast in order to pre-position them near the disaster area so they can quickly and easily respond to the wildfires once the situation is more stable, once they can ensure the team’s safety and once they are assured that the team will be able to gain access to the areas of need.  The Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Units have the capability to wash 300 loads of laundry a day.

Matthew 25 has begun sending semis of aid to partners in California. The first semi deployed Friday, November 9 with two more scheduled to deploy on November 16.  The shipments are filled with personal care kits, paper products, water, dust masks, tarps, baby items, laundry detergent pods and more. Matthew 25 anticipates sending many more truckloads in the weeks and months ahead.

Currently, firefighters are battling three wildfires, among them the Camp Fire which has become the most destructive and deadliest wildfire in California state history. Officials have confirmed that 56 people have been killed in that fire, but more than 100 more are still unaccounted fire. The Camp Fire has also destroyed more than 8,500 homes. Matthew 25: Ministries’ Disaster Relief Coordinator is also monitoring the Hill Fire and Woolsey Fire. Combined, those fires have burned more than 100,000 acres and more than 500 homes have been destroyed.

Matthew 25: Ministries accepts cash, credit card and online donations for ongoing disaster aid and humanitarian relief programs. All designated funds are used for the purpose intended. Matthew 25 also welcomes volunteers six days a week at their Blue Ash facility.
