MATTHEW 25 MINISTRIES IS RESPONDING TO SEVERE FLOODING THAT SWEPT THROUGH PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN MIDWEST

In Collaboration with Procter & Gamble and Walmart, Matthew 25 Will Deploy their Disaster Response Team to Provide Services and Essential Supplies to Impacted Communities

JUNE 26, 2024  BLUE ASH, OH  Matthew 25: Ministries, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization headquartered in Blue Ash, OH is responding to devastating flooding in the Northern Midwest earlier this week.  Historic flooding deluged portions of Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. Thousands of homes and buildings were destroyed, hospitals and healthcare facilities were forced to evacuate, powerful water flows collapsed a bridge and endangered a dam, and cities were left without power or clean water during a bout of severe and extensive flooding in the upper Midwest. Almost 3 million people have been impacted by the flooding, from Nebraska to Minnesota. Compounding the situation, the temperature in some communities hit by flooding neared 100 degrees on Monday afternoon. Many waterways may not crest until later this week as floodwaters drain into the Missouri and Mississippi rivers.

More than 20 river locations are experiencing major flooding and much of the Midwest remained under flash flooding and tornado warnings into Wednesday morning.  Additional heavy rain is expected to return late in the week and could cause additional flooding. The severe rain was responsible for the deaths of at least two people and thousands had to be rescued or evacuated.

In collaboration with Procter & Gamble and Walmart, Matthew 25: Ministries is deploying their Disaster Response Team along with a selection of vehicles including a Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry unit, a shower trailer and a co-branded panel truck.  The team will provide essential service including laundry and showers, and will distribute supplies such as P&G personal care kits, baby supplies, paper products, Zevo insect repellant and additional supplies including garbage bags, cleaning supplies and first aid and safety supplies provided by Cintas to areas impacted by the flooding.  While there, Matthew 25 will conduct damage assessments and continue working with partners serving the impacted areas to evaluate ongoing needs.

Matthew 25 is requesting monetary and product donations to supplement existing supplies and for restocking during their response to this and future disasters.
