More than 50 Deaths Predicted in the Aftermath of the Storms

DECEMBER 11, 2021  Cincinnati, OH Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization in Cincinnati, OH, is responding to the devastating tornadoes that ripped through at least 5 states last night and early this morning, including the rare Quad-state tornado that swept along a 200 mile path through Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri and Arkansas.  Altogether, there have been more than 30 unconfirmed reports of tornadoes across multiple states. One of the hardest hit areas is the western Kentucky city of Mayfield.  More than 50 people are feared dead in Kentucky as a result of the storm, and death reports are continuing to come in from additional states.

Matthew 25 will be responding to Mayfield and other impacted communities across the widespread disaster region. Matthew 25 is currently communicating with partners to identify most urgent needs and plans to deploy their Disaster Response Team, as well as shipping aid into the impacted areas in order to help as many people as possible.

“My heart goes out to the people of Mayfield and all the other communities devastated by last night’s tornadoes,” said Matthew 25: Ministries’ CEO Tim Mettey.  “The loss of life and destruction is truly heartbreaking. We will help those impacted during this holiday season and will continue helping into the new year.”
