MATTHEW 25: MINISTRIES ENHANCES THEIR RESPONSE TO HURRICANE HELENE
Matthew 25 Airlifts Supplies to Distribute Throughout Impacted Areas in North Carolina
SEPTEMBER 30, 2024, BLUE ASH, OH –Matthew 25: Ministries, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization headquartered in Blue Ash, OH is currently responding to Hurricane Helene, which made landfall as an extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane with maximum winds of 140 MPH. Helene brought life-threatening storm surge, widespread flooding, and significant devastation to a multi-state region, including Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
To support immediate relief efforts, Matthew 25 will begin airlifting supplies for distribution in impacted areas throughout North Carolina starting this week. With support from partners like Kroger, Procter & Gamble, Prime, and Walmart, these supplies will include food, water, hydration drinks, baby formula, and diapers, enabling us to reach areas cut off from other forms of assistance and ensuring a sustained and comprehensive response.
In collaboration with Procter & Gamble, Tide, and Walmart, Matthew 25 has also deployed its Disaster Response fleet and teams to provide essential services such as laundry and showers, while delivering critical supplies like P&G personal care kits, baby supplies, paper products, Zevo insect repellent, and Cintas first aid and safety kits throughout affected areas. Additionally, we have deployed the Duracell PowerForward Truck, equipped with mobile charging stations and up to 20,000 batteries. Given the extensive impact of the disaster, we anticipate a prolonged response and have established a rotating team schedule to maintain continuous support and maximize efficiency during relief and recovery efforts.
Alongside deploying their Disaster Response teams, they are shipping truckloads of relief supplies to address the immediate and ongoing needs of those affected. Matthew 25 will continue these efforts for as long as the needs exist and they can respond efficiently and effectively.
“We are incredibly thankful for the generosity of our partners,” says Matthew 25: Ministries’ CEO, Tim Mettey. “Their support enables us to deliver critical resources more effectively and reach as many people in need as possible.”
