MATTHEW 25: MINISTRIES SURPASSES 1,000 TRUCKLOADS
OF AID DISTRIBUTED IN A SINGLE YEAR

Over 23 Million Pounds of Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief Sent to Those in Need in 2022

NOVEMBER 23, 2022  Blue Ash, OH Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization in Blue Ash has surpassed 1,000 truckloads shipped in a single year for the first time ever.  It took 10 years as a new ministry for Matthew 25 to ship their first 1,000 truckloads of aid, and now the ministry is celebrating shipping that same amount in just one year.

The 1,000 truckloads of aid shipped this year have carried over 23 million pounds of desperately needed aid to the poorest of the poor and disaster victims, including food, clothing, medical supplies, personal care products, cleaning supplies, school supplies, and more. These products help meet the basic needs of recipients, providing aid to individuals and families and positioning them to overcome the difficulties they are facing.

“This is such an exciting milestone,” said Matthew 25’s CEO Tim Mettey. “When my father started Matthew 25: Ministries more than 30 years ago, he knew he wanted to help people in need.  It is thrilling to surpass 1,000 truckloads of aid shipped in a single year, but the most important impact of that achievement is the people we have been able to help with those truckloads – more than 27 million – and are continuing to help.  We will continue doing what we do every day and fulfilling our commitment to helping the poorest of the poor and disaster victims, in our community, our country and our world.”

Matthew 25 has experienced steady growth over the last 30 years that has allowed them to continue a pattern of rapid development and expansion, acquiring additional partners locally, domestically and worldwide; becoming a significant resource for disaster response and relief; and expanding special programs that meet underserved needs and support their core mission of caring for the poorest of the poor and disaster victims.  This operational growth is reflected in the growth of their campus from a 5,000 square foot warehouse in 1991 to a 300,000 square foot campus in 2022. Matthew 25 now supports hundreds of partners in their community of Greater Cincinnati and throughout the United States, and has shipped supplies to over 70 countries around the world.

Matthew 25: Ministries began as the result of a trip Founder Reverend Wendell Mettey made with a group of doctors and nurses to Nicaragua in 1990.  Upon leaving, Pastor Mettey made a promise to himself that he would find a way to help the people of Nicaragua.  He developed an efficient system to rescue and reuse food, clothing, personal care, cleaning, medical and educational supplies which were deemed no longer useful by U.S. standards and transport them to those in desperate need.  Since 1991, Matthew 25: Ministries has grown from a small group of dedicated individuals carrying supplies in suitcases to an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization distributing over 15,000,000 pounds of products and helping more than 20,000,000 people each year.  In total, Matthew 25 has shipped more than 285 million pounds of aid to partners domestically and around the world.

So far in 2022, Matthew 25: Ministries has more than 1,000 truckloads of aid weighing over 23 million pounds and helping over 27 million people. These shipments have provided millions of pounds of aid to our community of Greater Cincinnati, to partners domestically and worldwide.
