HURRICANE DELTA 2020

Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to Hurricane Delta, which made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane with winds of 100 mph near Creole, Louisiana on Friday, October 9. The storm moved inland through the southeast over the weekend, and brought heavy rainfall, power outages, and isolated tornadoes. Lake Charles, LA, which was heavily impacted by Hurricane Laura, received more than 15 inches of rain and Iowa, LA reported up to 17 inches of rain. There were approximately 700,000 power outages at the height of the storm with reports of 10 tornadoes from the Gulf to the Carolinas.

Matthew 25 has shipped 5 truckloads of aid to the disaster area so far, loaded with supplies such as shampoo, soap, feminine care, diapers, all purpose cleaner, dishwashing liquid, detergent, paper products, and more. Matthew 25 will continue to assess the needs of the communities impacted and provide ongoing relief as long as there is a need.

 

Donors who would like to designate their financial gifts for Hurricane Delta Relief may do so by writing “Hurricane Delta Relief” in the memo line of their check or by typing it in the “special purpose” field of our online giving form.
