FEBRUARY — Matthew 25: Ministries led a team of staff and volunteer healthcare professionals to host medical clinics and distribute food in communities still recovering from Hurricane Dorian, which devastated parts of the Caribbean in 2019. During the trip, approximately 500 patients were consulted by medical doctors and optometrists to address illnesses that had gone untreated since the hurricane. Additionally, approximately 800 meals were distributed to members of impacted communities. Since September of 2019, Matthew 25 has shipped more than 100,000 pounds of life-saving products to partners in the hardest-hit areas of the Bahamas.
Matthew 25 also deployed our Disaster Response Team to Mississippi to provide relief services for those affected by severe flooding in the Jackson area. The team completed laundry and distributed relief products during the deployment, including personal care kits, first aid and safety kits, paper products, and more.
MARCH — Matthew 25: Ministries responded to devastating tornadoes that tore through Nashville and the surrounding region. Our Disaster Response Team deployed to provide relief services and distribute supplies such as personal care kits, paper products, first aid and safety kits, tarps, and other much-needed products throughout the affected areas.
Matthew 25 also began responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of late 2020, we have distributed over 6 million pounds of emergency supplies to more than 1,300 organizations—including hospitals, fire departments, police departments, nursing homes, schools, healthcare facilities, and more. Supplies provided included face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, paper products, batteries, cleaning items and more.
Throughout 2020 we also responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing lunch to staff at local hospitals, providing boxed, frozen meals to non-profits and food pantries throughout Greater Cincinnati, supporting testing and product distribution events to care for under-served communities throughout the U.S., and hosting several drive-through events at our facility in Blue Ash, Ohio to help provide free COVID-19 testing, PPE and relief supplies, as well as food to members of the Greater Cincinnati community.
APRIL — Matthew 25: Ministries responded to devastating tornadoes that tore through areas of the South and the eastern United States. We worked with partners throughout the disaster region to provide desperately-needed aid to those affected. Along with these shipments, we also provided essential PPE to allow our partners to safely distribute aid to those working to recover from these storms.
MAY — Matthew 25: Ministries responded to massive flooding in Michigan. We worked with partners throughout the devastated area to provide desperately-needed aid to those affected, including cleaning supplies, paper products, personal care items, batteries, trash bags, and carpet fans.
JULY — Matthew 25: Ministries responded to severe damage and flooding in parts of the Eastern Caribbean and the US East Coast caused by Hurricane Isaias. We provided truckloads of disaster relief including over 95,000 pounds of supplies such as personal care items, cleaning supplies, paper products, baby supplies, and more to areas affected by the storm.
AUGUST — Matthew 25: Ministries shipped disaster relief to Lebanon in the aftermath of the catastrophic explosion in the capital city of Beirut. The shipment included products such as personal care items, cleaning supplies, baby supplies and more to help those recovering from the explosion.
Matthew 25 shipped aid to partners in Iowa in response to the derecho that hit the Midwest, including products such as shampoo, conditioner, personal care items, diapers & wipes, detergent, and batteries.
Matthew 25: Ministries responded to historic wildfires throughout the West Coast by shipping truckloads of aid to partners in the devastated areas. These shipments included personal care items, cleaning supplies, diapers, laundry detergent, batteries and other much-needed supplies.
Matthew 25 also responded to Hurricane Laura, which made landfall along the Gulf Coast as a Category 4 hurricane causing heavy storm surge, flash flooding and high winds in parts of Texas and Louisiana. Matthew 25: Ministries deployed our Disaster Response Team to distribute supplies throughout the disaster region, as well as provided laundry services. In addition to these on-site services, we worked with partners to ship truckloads of aid in order to help as many people as possible.
SEPTEMBER — Matthew 25: Ministries responded to Hurricane Sally, which made landfall near Gulf Shores, Alabama as a Category 2 hurricane, causing devastating rainfall and widespread flooding. We shipped several truckloads of aid to partners for distribution throughout the widespread disaster region. Relief supplies included personal care products, cleaning supplies, paper products, batteries, blankets, and more to help those recovering from the storm. We will continue to ship aid as long as there is a need.
OCTOBER — Matthew 25 responded to Hurricane Delta, which made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane near Creole, Louisiana. We shipped truckloads of aid to the disaster area, loaded with supplies such as shampoo, soap, diapers, all purpose cleaner, detergent, paper products, and more.
We also responded to Hurricane Zeta, which made landfall near Cocodrie, LA as a Category 2 storm. We shipped multiple truckloads of disaster relief products to the disaster region to help those impacted by the storm. We will continue to work with partners to ship supplies to those recovering from these storms.
NOVEMBER — Matthew 25: Ministries responded to Hurricane Eta, which initially made landfall in Nicaragua on Nov. 3, and then again as a Tropical Storm near Cedar Key, FL the following week. The extremely powerful storm delivered torrential rainfall across parts of Central America, causing widespread flooding and devastating landslides. Matthew 25 has shipped multiple truckloads of relief supplies including personal care supplies, household and cleaning products, blankets, and more to Central America and worked with on the ground partners to distribute supplies to those affected.
We also responded to Hurricane Iota, which made landfall on Nov.16 as an extremely dangerous Category 4 storm about 15 miles from where Hurricane Eta made landfall just 13 days earlier. We shipped relief supplies including personal care supplies, household and cleaning products, blankets, and more to the disaster region for distribution by our on the ground partners. We will continue to ship aid for these disasters as long as there is a need.
