HURRICANE IRMA 2017
UPDATED FRIDAY, AUGUST 24, 2018 2:39 PM EST
Matthew 25: Ministries responded to Hurricane Irma, which roared across Florida in September 2017. The storm made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane, and at one point the massive hurricane covered the entire state. Due to the severity of the storm, Matthew 25’s aid included 21 truckloads of aid and supplies being sent to partners in the affected areas across Florida.
Our Disaster Response Team offered disaster relief services in areas of Florida affected by Hurricane Irma. The team distributed much-needed aid to hard-hit communities and provided complimentary laundry services with the Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry Unit, powered by Matthew 25: Ministries.
In total, the team was able to distribute approximately 385 personal care kits, 225 safety kits, 3,500 rolls of paper products, 935 detergent samples, 770 packs of wipes, 20 cases of diapers, 25 cases of water, and 10 tarps. Additionally, the team also completed more than 400 loads of laundry for those affected by Hurricane Irma.
This is a long-term relief effort and we will continue to ship as long as there is a need.
