SOUTHEASTERN U.S. FLOODING 2025

UPDATED THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2:10 PM

Over the weekend of February 15 and 16, parts of the Southeastern U.S. were hit by heavy rainfall, with 3-6 inches of rain falling across the region in the storm’s path. This relentless downpour caused widespread flooding and created dangerous conditions throughout several states, including Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee and surrounding states. Floodwater blocked and washed out roads, downed trees, and submerged entire communities. At least fourteen people have lost their lives. In addition to severe flooding, the storm caused widespread disruptions, leaving tens of thousands of homes without electricity, roads impassable due to high water levels, and caused extensive property damage.

In the aftermath of this devastating flooding, Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to provide critical relief to the affected communities. The Disaster Response Team deployed to the disaster region, along with select vehicles in the disaster response fleet. The team distributed essential relief supplies, including hydration drinks, personal care items, cleaning supplies, baby essentials, and more. These supplies do more than just meet immediate needs, they bring hope, comfort, and a sense of support to families navigating the difficult road to recovery. In these times of overwhelming hardship, we are honored to support those in need, offering a helping hand and a message of hope when it matters most.
