HATCHING HOPE PARTNERS WITH MATTHEW 25: MINISTRIES
TO HOST COVID-19 TESTING

Matthew 25: Ministries, #IDIDMYPART, Procter & Gamble, Hatching Hope, Southern Wellness Clinic, and Southeast Clinical Laboratories, LLC Are Partnering to Prevent and Reduce the Spread of COVID-19 in Alabama

THURSDAY AUGUST 13, 2020 CINCINNATI, OH Matthew 25: Ministries, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization headquartered in Cincinnati, OH is working with Tina Knowles Lawson’s #IDIDMYPART, Procter & Gamble, Hatching Hope, Southern Wellness Clinic, and Southeast Clinical Laboratories, LLC to provide free COVID-19 testing and COVID-19 supplies to residents in the Greater Birmingham area on Saturday, August 15.  The event is inspired by Tina Knowles Lawson and her initiative #IDIDMYPART, which encourages community members to take action towards prevention and early detection during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Between the hours of 9AM – 4PM on Saturday, August 15, Hatching Hope will host free drive-through COVID-19 testing as well as distributing free kits containing personal care and hygiene items and basic PPE.  Supplies and testing will be available rain or shine at:

Hatching Hope 2758 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124

  • Free COVID-19 tests will be administered on a first come, first served basis while supplies last
  • Free PPE, personal care and hygiene kits will be distributed while supplies last

Please note:  A government issued photo ID is required to participate in COVID-19 testing.  Minors can receive testing with the signed consent of a present parent or guardian.

Kits will contain a variety of Procter & Gamble personal care and hygiene products from brands including Always, Crest, Gillette, Old Spice, Pantene, Secret, Tampax, Tide, Dreft and Oral-B, as well as basic PPE including gloves and masks.

In an effort to best protect public health, recipients must remain in their vehicles for testing and also while picking up supplies. For supply distribution, kits will be placed directly into the trunk of the vehicle in order to maintain social distancing.  Because supplies are limited, there will be a limit of two kits per vehicle.  All COVID-19 testing is administered under safe conditions and participants will never have to exit their vehicles.

Matthew 25 works with first responders, hospitals, healthcare providers, public service agencies and other organizations and businesses to ensure that they have access to the supplies they need to protect their employees and safely meet the needs of the community.  To date, Matthew 25: Ministries has distributed over 4.75 million pounds of COVID-19 supplies including masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, paper products, soap, batteries, diapers, plus additional personal protective equipment, personal care products, and cleaning items to approximately 1,200 partners.  For the most current information on Matthew 25: Ministries’ distribution activities, please visit https://m25m.org/disaster/covid19updates/ or follow Matthew 25 on social media.  For more in-depth information about Matthew 25: Ministries’ humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts or to schedule an interview, please contact Joodi Archer joodi@m25m.org.
