WITH SUPPORT FROM THE CONNOR GROUP,
MATTHEW 25: MINISTRIES ENHANCES THEIR RESPONSE TO HURRICANE IAN

The Connor Group Supports Matthew 25’s Ongoing Relief Efforts with Air Transport for Teams

OCTOBER 12, 2022  Blue Ash, OH Matthew 25: Ministries, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization headquartered in Blue Ash, OH is currently responding to Hurricane Ian. Ian made landfall in Cayo Costa, FL as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds near 150 mph and brought life-threatening storm surge, flooding and devastation.

As part of their initial rapid response, Matthew 25: Ministries deployed their Disaster Response fleet and team to distribute products and provide essential services like laundry, ice and mobile charging throughout affected areas. Due to the severity of the disaster, Matthew 25 anticipates an ongoing response to meet the challenges of relief and recovery and has established a rotating schedule of team members to ensure that response efforts continue with maximum efficiency.

The Connor Group in Miami Township, OH is generously donating transportation for Matthew 25: Ministries’ Disaster Response Team. The first of several flights took place on Saturday, October 8, followed by another departure this morning, October 12. This extremely generous donation will enable Matthew 25 to move quickly and efficiently into the disaster area, rotating staff members to ensure maximum effectiveness with their response activities.

The Connor Group and Managing Partner Larry Connor have stepped up time and time again when disaster strikes, supporting post-Hurricane Dorian (2019) and Maria (2017) relief, evacuation efforts in Puerto Rico in 2017 and airlifting medical supplies to earthquake victims in Haiti in 2010.

“We have a unique opportunity to help people and make a difference during situations like these,” said Connor. “As a company we have five core values that dictate everything we do. At the top of that list are ‘do the right thing’ and ‘people count.”

In addition to deploying their Disaster Response team, Matthew 25 is also shipping truckloads of relief aid (nearly 400,000 pounds so far) to help meet the immediate and ongoing needs of those impacted and will continue to do so as long as a need exists and Matthew 25 is able to meet that need efficiently and effectively.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of The Connor Group,” said Matthew 25: Ministries’ CEO, Tim Mettey. “The support we are receiving allows us to rotate refreshed staff members in and out of the disaster area, which helps ensure that our Team is operating at 100%—100% of the time—and is delivering much needed resources most efficiently so that we can help as many people in need as possible.”

Matthew 25 responds to disasters domestically and internationally and provides both rapid response and long-term support to areas impacted by disaster. In 2022, Matthew 25 has responded to disasters including Hurricane Fiona, flooding in Pakistan, and the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, and is continuing to provide long-term disaster recovery to several 2021 disasters. So far in 2022, Matthew 25: Ministries has shipped approximately 850 truckloads of aid (approximately 18 million pounds) worldwide and helped over 21 million people.
