HURRICANE ISAIAS 2026

UPDATED WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2026 10:43 AM EST

Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to Hurricane Isaias, which made landfall near Destin, Florida, on Friday, October 9, as a Category 2 hurricane with sustained winds of 105 mph. The powerful storm brought destructive winds, dangerous storm surge, and torrential rainfall to communities along the northern Gulf Coast, with the Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama experiencing significant impacts. Wind gusts reached 116 mph near Santa Rosa Sound, while water levels in Panama City Beach rose approximately 5.6 feet above the average high tide level. Rainfall totals of 4–8 inches, with locally higher amounts, have threatened communities with flash flooding as the storm moves inland. Isaias has caused widespread power outages, downed trees and power lines, blocked roadways, and damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure across affected areas.

In collaboration with corporate partners Procter & Gamble, Walmart, Duracell, Tide Loads of Hope, and Gorilla Glue, Matthew 25: Ministries and its Code 3 Search and Rescue Team are responding to provide critical emergency assistance and relief to communities impacted by Hurricane Isaias. Code 3 personnel were pre-positioned ahead of landfall to support search and rescue operations, assisting individuals who may be trapped, injured, or in immediate danger. Matthew 25’s Disaster Response Team is also mobilized to provide essential supplies and services to families facing the immediate aftermath of the storm.

In addition to supporting critical search and rescue efforts, Matthew 25: Ministries is coordinating the delivery of essential relief supplies and the deployment of specialized Disaster Response Fleet resources to affected communities. Available resources include the Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry unit, mobile shower and restroom facilities, charging services, and emergency supplies such as personal care products, cleaning items, paper products, batteries, and other necessities. As communities begin the difficult process of recovery, Matthew 25 remains committed to providing help, hope, and essential relief through every stage of disaster response, from immediate rescue and relief efforts to long-term recovery and rebuilding.
