In mid-October 2025, the remnants of Typhoon Halong slammed into western Alaska’s coastal region, bringing hurricane-force winds exceeding 80 mph and storm surges more than six feet above normal high tide. The powerful storm caused widespread flooding across rural Western Alaska Native villages, tearing homes from their foundations, submerging roadways and boardwalks, snapping utility poles, and inundating entire neighborhoods. Many residents have been displaced, leaving families facing the loss of homes, infrastructure, and traditional lands.

In response, Matthew 25: Ministries partnered with local organizations and community groups to ship critical relief supplies to those impacted. Shipments include personal care items, baby supplies, warm winter apparel, cleaning supplies, and other essential goods to help meet immediate needs and support ongoing recovery efforts.

Matthew 25 remains committed to providing comfort, care, and hope to those affected by this devastating flooding, helping families and communities begin the long road to recovery.
