Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to a powerful storm system that produced destructive tornadoes and severe weather across the Central and Midwestern United States on March 10th. The storms impacted communities across multiple states including Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, leaving a trail of destruction as the system moved eastward.

The widespread severe weather outbreak produced multiple tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail, causing significant damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure. At the height of the storms, more than 300,000 customers across the region were without power as strong winds and tornadoes downed trees and power lines. Emergency responders worked through the night responding to damage reports, assisting residents, and conducting search and rescue efforts in impacted communities.

The storm system brought some of its most destructive impacts to areas of the Midwest, where tornadoes caused extensive structural damage and resulted in fatalities and injuries. As the storm system moved through northern Illinois, a large tornado struck Kankakee County, damaging homes and businesses before crossing the Kankakee River into the community of Aroma Park, Illinois. Residents reported significant wind damage, downed trees, and debris scattered throughout neighborhoods as local officials began assessing the extent of the destruction.

In collaboration with Procter & Gamble, Matthew 25: Ministries deployed their Disaster Response Teams along with a selection of disaster response vehicles, including panel trucks loaded with relief supplies to impacted areas. The team will distribute essential relief supplies to families affected by the storms, including items such as personal care products, cleaning supplies, paper products, Duracell batteries and chargers, Cintas First Aid and Safety kits and other necessities to help residents begin the recovery process.
