Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to severe flooding caused by powerful storms and torrential rainfall across Indiana. East-central Indiana was especially hard hit by flooding, with Muncie, New Castle, Cambridge City, Hagerstown, Connersville, and surrounding communities experiencing significant flooding. The storms inundated neighborhoods and roadways, prompted evacuations and water rescues, caused road closures and travel restrictions, and damaged homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. In Muncie and Delaware County, the White River rose above major flood stage, while communities throughout Henry, Wayne, and Fayette counties also experienced serious flooding and impassable roads. Additionally, communities across Ohio and Northwest Indiana also experienced flooding and power outages as a result of this severe weather outbreak.

In collaboration with Procter & Gamble and Walmart, Matthew 25: Ministries deployed its Disaster Response Team and specialized Disaster Response Fleet to provide critical relief services and supplies to families and communities impacted by the flooding. Response efforts included the Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry unit, part of the P&G Disaster Relief Program, which provided nearly 1,000 loads of clean laundry for those recovering from the flooding.

In addition to deploying our disaster response team, Matthew 25 has shipped relief supplies to several communities impacted by this severe weather outbreak across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, including Gary, Indiana. Supplies have included personal care and cleaning items, baby supplies, paper products, and more.

WAYS TO HELP

• Cases of bottled water: 12 and 24 count
• Personal care products: Antibacterial soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, lotion, etc.
• Cleaning supplies: Laundry detergents, general cleaner, sponges, bleach (powdered form is preferred), mops, scrub brushes, buckets, rubber gloves, etc.
• Paper products: Toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
• Baby and infant supplies: Diapers, wipes, diaper rash ointment, baby wash, baby shampoo, baby lotion, etc.
• First-aid items: Bandages, gauze, pads, first aid tape, antiseptic creams, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, latex gloves, instant cold packs, etc.
• Candles and flashlights: If necessary, please include the appropriate size batteries with any flashlight donation
• Clean-up supplies: Protective eyewear, work gloves, trash bags etc.
