Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to the devastating tornadoes that tore through Mississippi overnight on Wednesday, May 6. The severe weather outbreak produced destructive tornadoes, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall, impacting communities throughout the state. Homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure sustained significant damage as strong winds downed trees and powerlines left debris blocking roadways. Some areas reported extensive structural damage, with widespread power outages further complicating recovery efforts as local officials and first responders continue damage assessments.
Matthew 25 is committed to helping the communities affected by this devastating storm system. The Disaster Response Team and fleet of disaster response vehicles deployed to distribute essential supplies throughout the impacted communities, including personal care items, cleaning products, paper goods, batteries, and other necessities to support individuals and families impacted by the storms.
PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION
5.09.26 – 5.11.26 Brookhaven, Purvis, Bogue Chitto, Meadville, Lamar, & East Lincoln, MS | Our Disaster Response Team delivered urgent relief supplies and cleanup equipment to communities impacted by recent tornadoes. The following reflects totals distributed during the deployment:
Distribution: Approximately 20,000 rolls of paper products, 320 P&G Personal Care Kits, 285 Cintas First Aid and Safety Kits, 70 boxes of diapers, 200 boxes of Tide Pods, 140 bottles of insect repellant, 8,850 Duracell batteries, and 350 Duracell power banks distributed. In addition, the team provided cleanup tools and equipment, including 14 chainsaws, 12 generators, sawzalls, drills, saws, fans, and additional tools.
