NORTHEAST FLOODING 2023

UPDATED THURSDAY JULY 20, 2023 3:43 PM EST

Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to historic rains and severe flooding that overflowed river banks, washed away roads, and damaged homes and businesses throughout the Northeastern United States. More than 13 million people were under flood watches and warnings from Eastern New York state to Western Maine. New York and Vermont were the hardest hit states, with communities in Vermont and New York receiving up to 8 or more inches of rain. Parts of Vermont experienced flooding of a severity not seen since Tropical Storm Irene in 2011.

Matthew 25: Ministries deployed our Disaster Response Team to distribute supplies such as personal care kits, baby supplies, paper products, insect repellant, cleaning supplies, first aid and safety kits, and more to areas impacted by the flooding. The team also distributed cleanup supplies such as fans, shovels, and more. While there, Matthew 25 conducted damage assessments and communicated with partners in the area to evaluate how we can best serve the ongoing needs of the disaster region.
