HURRICANE ETA 2020

UPDATED MONDAY, JUNE 10, 2024 4:10 PM EST

Matthew 25: Ministries responded to Hurricane Eta, which made landfall early morning on November 12 near Cedar Key, FL as a Tropical Storm after sweeping across Central America the week prior.

The extremely powerful hurricane had maximum sustained winds of 140 mph when it made landfall in Nicaragua on November 3 and delivered torrential rainfall across parts of Central America, causing widespread flooding and devastating landslides.

Tropical Storm Eta continued to weaken as it moved northeast across the US toward the Atlantic, and brought more than 7 inches of rainfall to the Carolinas.

Matthew 25 shipped more than 20 truckloads of relief supplies including personal care supplies, household and cleaning products, blankets, and more to Central America in response to Hurricane Eta and Hurricane Iota.

Donors who would like to designate their financial gifts for Hurricane Eta Relief may do so by writing “Hurricane Eta Relief” in the memo line of their check or by typing it in the “special purpose” field of our online giving form.
