TROPICAL STORM DEBBY 2024

UPDATED FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2024 9:18 AM

Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to Tropical Storm Debby, which made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane in Florida’s Big Bend region early on Monday, August 5, leaving a trail of destruction as it moved across Central Florida, parts of Georgia, and the Carolinas over the next several days. While Debby weakened to a tropical storm as it moved up the Atlantic Coast, the affected areas experienced damaging winds, record-breaking rainfall, unprecedented storm surge, tornadoes in South Carolina, and tornado watches in several other states.

Matthew 25: Ministries, in collaboration with Procter & Gamble, mobilized to support the recovery efforts. Our Disaster Response Team deployed to the affected areas equipped with a range of our fleet, including a Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry unit and co-branded panel trucks. The team offered critical services such as laundry facilities and distributed essential supplies, including personal care kits, baby products, paper goods, insect repellent, as well as additional items like garbage bags, cleaning supplies, and Cintas first aid and safety equipment to areas affected by the flooding. Matthew 25 also deployed the Duracell PowerForward truck, equipped to carry as many as 20,000 Duracell batteries as well as on-board charging stations for mobile devices. Matthew 25 will also continue to collaborate with local partners to support immediate and long-term recovery needs of the impacted communities.
