Matthew 25: Ministries responded to severe storms and tornadoes that swept across parts of the Midwest, South, and Great Plains in May. Millions of people across many states, including Iowa, Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee, were under threat of severe weather and experienced disastrous impacts from the tornadoes, high winds, and flooding. These regions suffered extensive damage, consisting of demolished homes and businesses, fallen trees, crushed vehicles, disrupted power lines, and significant debris accumulation. Tragically, fatalities exceeding 20 were reported across the affected regions.
In collaboration with Procter & Gamble and Walmart, Matthew 25: Ministries deployed their Disaster Response Team along with the Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry Unit, a shower trailer and a selection of Matthew 25’s disaster response fleet. The team provided laundry and shower services, and distributed essential supplies including P&G personal care kits, Pampers diapers, batteries, paper products, Zevo insect repellant and additional supplies including garbage bags, cleaning supplies, water, tools, tarps and first aid and safety supplies provided by Cintas to impacted communities. Additionally, Matthew 25 deployed the Duracell PowerForward truck, equipped to carry as many as 20,000 Duracell batteries. In addition, Matthew 25 shipped over 18,000 pounds of aid to those impacted.
