Matthew 25: Ministries is responding to devastating tornadoes and severe storms that struck southwest Michigan on Friday, March 6. The powerful storm system spawned multiple tornadoes across the region, leaving communities with significant destruction and loss.

Several towns in southwest Michigan, including Union City, Three Rivers, and surrounding communities, experienced severe damage as tornadoes tore through neighborhoods, destroying homes, damaging businesses, and knocking down trees and power lines. Early reports indicate multiple fatalities and injuries as emergency crews continue rescue, recovery, and damage assessment efforts across Branch, Cass, and St. Joseph counties.

In collaboration with Procter & Gamble, Matthew 25: Ministries deployed our disaster response team to the impacted region on Monday, March 9. The team will distribute essential relief supplies to families affected by the storms, including items such as personal care products, cleaning supplies, paper products, batteries and chargers provided by Duracell, first aid and safety kits provided by Cintas and other necessities to help residents begin the recovery process.

“Our hearts are with the families and communities in southwest Michigan who have experienced such devastating loss,” said CEO Tim Mettey. “Matthew 25: Ministries is grateful for the opportunity to respond by providing essential supplies as we strive to bring hope and support to those beginning the journey of recovery.”

WAYS TO HELP

• Cases of bottled water: 12 and 24 count
• Personal care products: Antibacterial soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, lotion, etc.
• Cleaning supplies: Laundry detergents, general cleaner, sponges, bleach (powdered form is preferred), mops, scrub brushes, buckets, rubber gloves, etc.
• Paper products: Toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
• Baby and infant supplies: Diapers, wipes, diaper rash ointment, baby wash, baby shampoo, baby lotion, etc.
• First-aid items: Bandages, gauze, pads, first aid tape, antiseptic creams, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, latex gloves, instant cold packs, etc.
• Candles and flashlights: If necessary, please include the appropriate size batteries with any flashlight donation
• Clean-up supplies: Protective eyewear, work gloves, trash bags etc.
