WEST VIRGINIA FLOODING 2025

UPDATED TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 2025 9:02 AM EST

Catastrophic flooding impacted parts of West Virginia, including Wheeling, Triadelphia, and Valley Grove, over the weekend of June 14–15, leaving widespread devastation in its wake. Short periods of torrential rain brought several inches of precipitation, triggering severe flash floods and creating extremely dangerous conditions throughout the region. Floodwaters washed out roads and submerged homes, businesses, and entire communities. Tragically, at least six fatalities have been reported at this time.

In the aftermath of these devastating floods, Matthew 25: Ministries mobilized to bring hope and relief to the communities in need. Our Disaster Response Team deployed to the affected region, along with select vehicles from our disaster response fleet. The team provided laundry and shower services, distributing essential supplies, and offered much-needed support as families and communities begin the difficult journey toward recovery. We will continue to work with our partners in the disaster region to assess current needs and determine how we can best provide assistance to those who need it most.
